Abstract

Depressive symptoms are frequently found (61.4 %) in hemodialysis patients.
high sensitive C-reactive protein (HS-CRP) concentration was used to predict outcome in hemodialysis patients, this study found increase in( HS -CRP in patients with depressive symptoms ,and also increase in BDI scores , which means that there is close correlation between inflammation and depression in dialysis patients.
Depression has potentially been linked to inflammation in ESRD patients.
Despite the high prevalence of depression among ESRD patients, less than half of these patients with diagnosis of depression were being treated with antidepressants and about half of those on drug treatment were receiving sub-therapeutic doses.
