Abstract This study was done to synthesize and characterize a drug releasing composite scaffold to be used in bone tissue regeneration. Materials and Methods: a copolymer of Poly(NIPAm-co-HEMA-Lactate) was synthesized in different ratios then nanofiberous scaffolds were fabricated by electrospinning and loaded with bone morphogenetic protein. The scaffolds were characterized and their ability to release the drug and its affect on differentiation of cells was assessed. Results: It was possible to fabricate nanofibrous scaffolds from all the ratios. the scaffolds were proven to be adequate drug delivery systems and the drugs cold be released by cold fomentation. The released drug was successful to stimulate the differentiation of cells for the desired tissue regeneration. |
