Abstract
Two field experiments were carried out during two successive seasons 2014 and 2015 at experimental Farm of Rice Research and Training Center (RRTC), Sakha, Kafr El-Sheikh Egypt. The main objective of this investigation was to evaluate 20 genotypes for vegetative, yield and its components as well as some grain quality characters under three sowing date (May1st, May 15th and June 1st ). The study was laid out in ( R.C.B.D) with 3 replications. The results showed that early sowing date (May1st ) produce a high grain yield (4.59 t/fed.) but late sowing date (June 1st ) decrease the grain yield (3.78 t/fed.). The best varieties under stress sowing date were (Giza 178, Giza 179 and Hybrid 1). The relationship between the characters changed under the early and late planting and this change has importance for plant breeder as gene expression various from one environment to another. Thus, should be select the best genotypes under the late sowing dates.
