Abstract The goal of adhesion prevention is to abolish or reduce the incidence, severity, extent and consequences of adhesions while retaining normal healing and preventing infection. Over the years, several strategies to prevent postoperative adhesion formation have been proposed, based on what has been learned about the underlying pathophysiology. Unfortunately, although numerous different strategies have been evaluated, few have been successful, and some have even been deleterious. To this day, there are no means of completely preventing postoperative adhesion formation. Nothing by mouth (NPO) is the standard treatment for small-bowel obstruction. Whether oral medications should be prohibited during treatment of adhesive, partial small-bowel obstruction is benefit in this study which determine that the combination of specific oral medications in adhesive, partial small-bowel obstruction decrease the need for operative intervention and significantly improved chances of non-operative management success. This study is a prospective randomized study which compare between patients of partial intestinal obstruction who will administrate oral therapy and who did not administrate. The study will include 40 patient were randomized into 2 groups, |
