Abstract The current study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using digital concept mapping strategy in developing preparatory school pupils’ listening skills. To answer the questions of the study, the researcher adopted the quasiexperimental design. The participants included two intact classes selected randomly, one from Kafr-Tanbedy prep school and the other from Meet Mousa prep school, Shebin El Kom Educational Zone, Menofia Governorate. They were randomly assigned to two groups, an experimental group and a control group. Each group consisted of thirty four pupils. The instrument of the study consisted of a pre and post-test in listening skills. The experimental group was taught through digital concept map strategy and the control group was taught through the traditional method. The treatment took place during the second semester of the academic year 2015/5016. Then the data of the study were statistically analyzed. The findings revealed that digital concept mapping strategy had a great impact on developing first year preparatory school pupils’ listening skills. This study has also suggested that further researches should be conducted on the effectiveness of the suggested strategy on teaching and learning English. |
