Abstract

Introduction: Microbial infection is a well-documented complication of many conditions and procedures that result in immunosuppression, including transplantation, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection, and treatment of malignancy.
Aim of the Work: The aim of the work is to optimize antimicrobial therapy in intensive care unit and to assess its effect on the change of antimicrobial resistance patterns.
Conclusion: The term antimicrobials incorporate distinctive pharmaceutical groups which are antibacterials, antifungals, antivirals, and antiparasitics. Of these, antibacterial group is the most generally utilized
