Abstract
Lumbar disc herniation is a common condition that frequently affects the spine of young and middle-aged patient. commonly manifested by low back pain & radicular pain of lower limbs known as Sciatica. Patients usually undergo a conservative therapy by physiotherapy or analgesics aiming to reduce the pain. Patients with failed medical treatment or other certain conditions may have to undergo discectomy surgery whcich may be conventional open discectomy or microscopic discectomy which is known to be the gold standard for discectomy.
