Abstract

R. solani one of the most common rot root fungi of established house or greenhouse plants and garden flower causing damage to the host and the yield. In this work, the pathogen was isolated and identified from North Egypt; many tests were done to control damping off and root rot disease caused by the pathogen, certain trials were done on two levels on this subject as follow :-1- Laboratory investigations. 2- Greenhouse experiments. Isolation, purification and identification of the Pathogen of damping off and root rot disease (R. solani) from Samples of infected roots showed the typical symptoms were collected from different places of Dakahlia governorates. Iron (Fe) and (zn) inhibited the mycelial growth of the fungus giving 0.0 cm at 5000ppm. On the other hand, the calcium (Ca) stimulated the mycelial growth of the fangs giving 8.0 cm at 500ppm, 1000ppm but decreased the mycelial growth at 5000ppm giving 3.8cm diameter.. harzianum (D) was the best antagonistic fungal giving 6.66% disease incidence, The same antagonistic fungal gave 94% living plants and 0%disease severity followed by T. viride (D), T. hamatum (D) treatment gave 33.33% disease incidence, 86.6% living plants and 7.41%disease severity . Followed by G. roseum (s) giving 22.22% disease incidence, 73.3% living plants and 11.11%disease severity. On the other hand T. viride (s) gave less effect on R. solani giving 71.11% disease incidence, 28.8% living plants and 40.74% disease severity. When compared with the controls (0% disease incidence, 100% living plants and 0% disease severity in the untreated control. Also, 46.66%, 53.33% and 55.56% in the artificially infested control and the chemical control gave 6.66% diseases incidence, 93.33% living plants and 22.22% disease severity, respectively). B. subtilis followed by P. fluorescens achieved the highest radial growth inhibition during incubation the period,.Using B. subtilis the radial growth of R. solani giving 0.56cm diameter expressed as (93%) inhibition, while in case of using P. fluorescens the radial growth of the pathogen gave 0.66cm (91.57%) inhibition, while the filtrate of P. fluorescens , B. subtilis achieved the highest radial growth inhibition during incubation period.P. fluorescens , B. subtilis giving radial growth at 50% concent of 0.0cm diameter (100% Inh.), 0.2 (97.5%) when combered with the untreated control.Cinnamon oil and Thyme oil gave the same reduction in the radial growth of R. solani without any significant difference between them giving 100% reduction in mycelium growth at all concentrations of 0.25%, 0.5% and 0.75% respectively. In the other hand Ginger oil giving 6.00cm (25%), 5.13cm (35.87%) and 4.23cm (47.12%) at 0.25%, 0.5% and 0.75% concentrate respectively.T. harzianum (D) was the best antagonistic fungal giving 6.66% disease incidence, The same antagonistic fungal gave 94% living plants and 0%disease severity followed by T. viride (D), T. hamatum (D) treatment gave 33.33% disease incidence, 86.6% living plants and 7.41%disease severity . Cinnamon (D) extract treatment gave 2.22% disease incidence, 97.7% living plants and 0% disease severity when compared with controls. These followed by. Camphor extract giving 11.11% disease incidence, 88.8% living plants, while the rocket and thyme extracts gave 45.55 disease incidence, 63.55% living plants and the three extracts (camphore, thyme and rocket) gave one level of disease severity 22.22%. Highest length of root came from T. virens giving 24.8 cm/root, while lowest effect came from T. hamatumwhich gave 16.5 cm/root. When compared with untreated control 25.2cm/root, the infested control 5.5cm and chemical control 13.16cm/root.In this treatment basil plants show an increase in photosynthetic pigments i.e., chlorophyll A, chlorophyll B, total chlorophyll and carotenoids. Table (24).Highest length of root come from T. viride giving 26.66 cm/root, while lowest effect come from T. hamatumwich gave 15.66 cm/root.
