Abstract

A laboratory experiment was carried out under the laboratory conditions of Agronomy Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, Egypt, from 30th May, 2015 to 11th March, 2016. The purpose of the experiment was to find out the effect of storage periods, treating wheat grains with natural and chemical materials and packages types on storage efficacy, chemical constituents of wheat grains and germination parameters under the environmental conditions of Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt. The experiment was arranged in a factorial experiment in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four replications. The first factor contained different storage periods of wheat after harvesting time as follows : 3 months. 6 months. 9 months. The second factor was treating wheat grains with natural and chemical materials at the beginning of storage as follows : Control treatment (untreated grains). Treating wheat grains with thyme oil at the rate of 15%. Treating wheat grains with neem oil at the rate of 20%. Treating wheat grains with ascorbic acid at the rate of 500 ppm. Treating wheat grains with phosphine at the rate of 8 ppm.
