Abstract Psychoactive substances are believed to be aphrodisiac; but in reality they have deleterious effects on all the aspects of sexual function Objectives : To evaluate the risk of sexual dysfunction and hormonal patterns in patients with opiates abuse disorder. Methodology : the sample consisted of 60 patients recruited from the addiction Out Patient Clinic or admitted in the addiction ward of Institute of Psychiatry, Ain Shams University Hospital: 30 heroin and 30 tramadol HCL. And 30 controls conclusion :opioid dependents (both tramadol HCL and heroin using patients) are more prone to develop SD and endocrinopathy than non-dependents. With heroin use effect on SD, involving its multiple domains . |
