Abstract

A proposed encryption method with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) in Counter mode algorithm is used here. It is performed by applying a new key to the stream cipher RC4 and XORing the output with the cipher output of block cipher AES after making a rotation. Combining the benefits of block cipher and stream cipher to produce a new mixing algorithm in order to increase security level of transmitted data over the air interface in LTE network. The proposed algorithm is tested on three types of input data: text, image, audio files. Defined in MATLAB environment and the performance analysis based on time of the encryption and decryption processes. Due to the algorithm complexity, it increases the avalanche effect providing more resistance to attacks and strength the randomization of the algorithm.Additionally, novel cryptographic algorithm based on enhancement of RC6 algorithm presented. Using two parallel RC6 and connecting them together with some functions in order to use 256 bit input block instead of 128 bit input block as the usual RC6. This proposed method makes the encryption decryption process faster, stronger, and immune against attacks. The suggested algorithm is simulated and tested on three different types of data files. The obtained results have been compared with the results obtained by Evolved Packet System (EPS) Encryption Algorithm 2 (EEA2) used in LTE. The results reveal that the proposed algorithm increases the throughput and decreases the execution time.
