Abstract

This work was executed during the two successive seasons of 2012\ 2013 and 2013\ 2014 at Mattay district, Minia Governorate, Middle Egypt. Two separate field experiments were conducted in order to investigate the effect of six levels of compost and NPK fertilization and four biofertilization treatments (Minia Azotein + phosphorein), as well as, the interaction between them in the first experiment, and seven treatments of NPK( full dose), yeast (3 g\ L) + 0.5 NPK, E.M. (50 ml \ plant) + 0.5 NPK, royal jelly(0.5 g\ L) + 0.5 NPK, yeast + E.M. + royal jelly + 0.5 NPK, yeast + E.M. + royal jelly, in addition to control ( water spray) in the second experiment, on vegetative growth, fruit yield and volatile oil and chemical constituents of fennel plants.
from the environmental and economical point of view, it is recommended, for the first experiment, to supply fennel plants with 50%compost (3.75 ton/ fed.)+ 50%NPK, 100 Kg/fed. ammonium nitrate (33.5%N), 75 Kg/fed. calcium superphosphate (15.5%P2O5) and 50 Kg/fed potassium sulphate (48.5% K2O) in combination with the dual biofertilization treatment (Minia Azotein+ phosphorein) in order to maximize the fruit and essential oil productivity.
For the second experiment it might be advised to supply fennel plants with 50%NPK, 100 Kg/fed. ammonium nitrate (33.5%N), 75 Kg/fed. calcium superphosphate (15.5%P2O5) and 50 Kg/fed potassium sulphate (48.5% K2O) plus the triple biostimulants (yeast 3g/ l + E.M. 50ml/ plant + royal jelly 0.5 g/l). However, in case of organic production, the triple biostimulants could be used.
