Abstract In the last century, technical materials turned to be an important part of the textile industry. They spreaded in a small period of time because of the excellent mechanical properties normalized to their mass. Therefore, they entered in many fields such as aircraft, space vehicles, composite structures, cars, medicine, security and environmental health. Many products in industry are always made from layers of fabric assembled together by sewing or composite. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of some factors that affecting performance properties of multilayer woven fabrics and their reflection on the performance of composite technical textiles. The factors studied consist of material, number of multilayer woven fabrics, method of layer stitching, fabric structure, and type of epoxy by resin infusion process. The considered performance properties of the fabric and composite are maximum strength, maximum elongation, bursting strength, air permeability, bending strength, thickness, puncture strength and mass. The optimization criterion is the maximum performance at the minimum cost. The results were obtained that the more tensile strength, elongation strength, thickness and mass are, the greater the number of layers. Also, in the composite material, it was possible to get a high tensile strength ranging from 1600 N to 8500 N, while the percent elongation at break ranging from 9 % to 23.6 %. |
