Abstract
This study was carried out to determine certain heavy metals including Cd, Pb, Zn and Cu in water, sediment and Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fish from lake Mariout. Samples were collected from two different locations (directly before El-max pumping station and the southwest basin). These samples were collected within two different seasons during summer 2015 and winter 2016 with different weights of fish. In addition, study the effect of three different methods of cooking (grilling, frying and steaming) on heavy metals level in fish. The data obtained with regard to the studied samples were statistically analyzed to study the effect of fishing area, season, fish weight and cooking method on the levels of the studied heavy metals.
