Abstract Competence of the Baccalaureate nursing graduates is crucial issue for nursing services as well as nursing education. Nurses today are required to provide quality patient care in a cost-efficient manner. Baccalaureate nursing graduates require a broad-based preparation to meet the complex client health needs and constantly changing practice environments .The aim was to study the impact of management program on improving competencies of graduated nursing students during internship year. Study design; Experimental research design with pre and post-test assessment was used in carrying out the study. Setting;The present study was conducted at El-Hellal hospital, Al-Mousa Islamic Hospital ,AlAraby Hospital, and Nasser Institute Hospital. Tools;Were used in this study namely: nursing management knowledge test questionnaire ( pre and post ) , observational nursing management competencies rating scale( pre and post). Subjects: Includedall intern students of Faculty of Nursing , Menoufia University their internship year 2014/2015.Results;The main findings of this study revealed that: The intern students’ knowledge about management competencies was improved after implementation of the educational program among study group than control group compared with before implementation the educational program. The Baccalaureate nursing graduates had statistical significant improvement in frequency and quality performing of nursing management competencies after implementation the educational program than before among study group than control group. There was a highly statistically significant between intern students’ knowledge level and their performance of management competencies among study group than control group throughout the study phases. Conclusion: The implementation of educational program had led to improve intern students’ knowledge and their performance regarding nursing management competencies .Recommendation: Apply clinical application of nursing management academic courses among two days to facilitate matching theoretical courses with practice. Design orientation and development program for graduate nursing students about management competencies. |
