Abstract

Chocolate spot is a serious disease affecting faba bean plants due to reduction of the yield. The causal agents (Botrytis fabae & Botrytis cinerea) are very destructive faba bean pathogens causing yield losses. Study the host-pathogen interaction helps a lot in understanding the pathological nature of chocolate spot causal agents and the biochemical defense systems of the plants. Investigation of this work was conducted at the laboratories and the glass house of the plant pathology department, faculty of agriculture ’El-Shattby’’, Alexandria university during successive seasons of 2014 until 2016. Obtained results in the present work can be summarized in the following points showing the objectives of each one:-
