Abstract This study focused on Click chemistry which is an increasingly common method for rapid synthesis of organic and bioorganic compounds. It plays a pivotal role in the field of supramolecular assemblies. The design and synthesis of dendritic architectures through the click chemistry approach has been gaining a great attention during the recent years. Click chemistry refers to Cu(I)-catalyzed Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azide and alkyne to get 1,4-disubstitued 1,2,3-triazole under mild reaction conditions with excellent chemoselectivity and good yield. As an extension of that work we report the preparation of novel thienopyrimidinones which have the advantage of introducing multiple biological functionalities via conjugation with different molecules through the click approach. |
