Abstract

Screw piles, also known as helical piles or screw anchors, are used in deep foundation applications. They can be used to provide structural stability against axial compression, uplift, overturning, and lateral forces. Helical piles are widely used in engineering applications because of its ease of installation and low cost with different multi use. The helical piles are designed to resist compression, uplift, and lateral load in cohesive soil with different water contents. A simple theoretical model is suggested to estimate the capacities of helical piles.
