Abstract Objective : To evaluate the stress analysis and the fracture resistance of CAD/CAM customized titanium, zirconia and high-resistance silicate ceramic abutments. Material and Methods: 21 titanium fixtures divided into group A (n=7) received titanium abutments and group B (n=7) received zirconia abutments and group C (n=7) received e.max abutments. All subjected to strain gauge analysis and fractured resistance test. Results : A) The strain gauge test revealed that : High significant differences between 3 groups and significant difference within all groups. High significant difference between e.max and zirconia, titanium and zirconia strain gauge at buccal and a non-significant difference at lingual sides. Buccally and lingually was found a high significant difference recorded between e.max and titanium. For e.max and zirconia abutment high significant difference between 2 sides. For titanium abutment non-significant difference between 2 sides. B) The result of fracture resistance: Highest resistance to fracture recorded in titanium without fracture. High significant difference between zirconia and e.max abutments. Conclusions : Both ceramic (zirconia, e.max) and titanium abutments could withstand the functional loads during physiologic force in the premolar area without fructure. |
