Abstract

Patients may fail to adhere to medication for a range of other reasons, including symptom severity, practical constraints in their daily life and problems with recall or understanding. Alongside these issues, patients’ perceptions and beliefs play an important role in adherence.Our results summarized that:br>Demographic data Age ranged between 19.0-80.0 years with the mean of 48.9412.39 years. Height ranged between 110.0-178.0 cm with the mean of 161.7411.28 cm. Weight ranged between 45.0-178.0 kg with the mean of 78.8319.46 kg. Regarding number of family member, it ranged between 1.0-8.0 with the mean of 4.471.47 member. Regarding occupation, not working was found in 74.0% and working in 26.0%. Regarding month income, it demonstrated that,patients with enough income found in 52.0%. Regarding marital status(83.0%)of patient are married , single in 7.0%, widow in 7.0% and divorced in 3.0%. Regarding education, most of the study samples (45.0%) were university school education, 34.0% secondary school only , 16.0% primary and 5.0% of patient were illiterate.
Regarding special habits, most of the studied sample (61.0%) was non smoker and 21.0% negative smoker. Fifty five of them do not have other diseases and 45.0% have diseases. Regarding positive family history of RA, most of them (82.0%) don’t have positive family history of RA. and 18.0% of them only have positive family history of RA. Regarding disease duration, it ranged between 2.0-27.0 with the mean of 6.294.89 years.
Regarding BMQ
According to specific-Necessity, high score was found in most of the studied cases (77.0%), According to Specific-Concer, high score were found in 50.0%, According to General Overview, high score was found in 52.0%, According to General-Harm, high score was found in 14.0% of the studied cases.
Regarding Education:
There was statistically significant relationship between specific-Necessity with education, majority of those with high scores had university educations 66.7% while the majority of those with moderate scores had secondary primary educations. As for those with low score never of them had university educations
There was a statistically significant relationship between specific concern question and level of education.
There was no statistical significant relationship between general-overview questions (low, moderate and high) and level of education while there was statistical significant relationship between the general-Harm questions of BMQ score and education.
Regarding Monthly income
There was statistically significant relationship between specific-Necessity and monthly income. Those were higher income had higher scores and those with low income had lower scores ,there was statistical significant relation between specific-concern and monthly income (88.9% of high score were enough month income) and also there were statistical significant relation between general-overview questions with monthly income.
But There was no statistical significant relationship between the general-Harm questions (low, moderate and high)and monthly income.
Regarding DAS 28:
According to DAS 28 there was statistical significant relationship that All low specific necessity (100.0%) were high level of disease activity
There was no statistically significant relationship between specific concern questions of BMQ score with DAS28.
There were statistical significant relationship between general-overview questions of BMQ score with DAS28
There was statistical significant relationship between the general-Harm questions of BMQ score with DAS28.
