Abstract
The aim of the present study is to evaluate the expression of CD66b as a specific activation marker of neutrophil in obese children and correlate results with other laboratory and clinical data.This study was conducted on 90 children (30 overweight, 30 obese, 30 lean) who were recruited from Pediatric Department, Tanta University Hospital. They were 49 males and 41 females and their ages ranged from 5 to 15 years. The normal weight group was 30 in number (13 males (43.3%) and 17 females (56.7%)). The overweight group was also, 30 in number (18 males(60%) and 12 females (40%)). The obese group was 30 in number (18 males(60%) and 12 females (%40.
