Abstract

CAD is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. CAD is the most common form of CVD. The first clinical manifestation of cardiovascular disease often arises in the stage of well advanced atherosclerosis. Elevated levels of several inflammatory mediators have been found in subjects with atherosclerosis. For clinical purposes, the most promising inflammatory biomarker appears to be hsCRP. Of the wide array of inflammatory biomarkers that have been studied, hsCRP have received the most attention for its use in screening, risk reclassification and as a predictor of clinical response to statin therapy. Ox-LDL is associated with preclinical atherosclerosis, coronary and arterial atherosclerosis and ACS. This study aimed to verify the role of hs-CRP and ox-LDL as an examples of the cardiac biomarkers in prediction and diagnosis of cardiovascular catastrophes. By analyzing and processing the data this study declared that: hs CRP ad Ox-LDL were significantly higher in total ACS, ACS before reperfusion therapy, ACS after reperfusion therapy when compared to control group. hs CRP ad Ox-LDL were significantly higher in AMI when compared to UA groups. ACS before and after reperfusion therapy as well as AMI before and after 6 hours did not show significant differences in hs CRP and ox-LDL. from the previously mentioned data serum Ox-LDL and Hs-CRP can be used as novel biomarkers in diagnosis, prediction and decision making in ACS patients.
