Abstract Enhancing the energy in Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols becomes an important research issue since smart sensor nodes which contain (Power component, Memory component, Processing component and Communications interface) are generally powered by chargeable batteries. The aim of this research is to improve a MAC protocol used in underwater sensor networks by enhancing the performance of ALOHA protocol, which is considered as one of the most popular MAC protocols to deal with this research point. The proposed work is based on improving the performance of the ALOHA protocol itself since it has a great deal on this problem rather than other complex MAC protocols and it is also considered as the principle of the very complex designs of MAC protocol like multi-channel networks. |
