Abstract
Skin examination and determination of the skin findings should be put as a fundamental part of neonatal assessment to avoid unnecessary therapy to neonates and to reassure parents about the good prognosis of these findings.
Further studies should follow up larger sample size of neonates on longer period passing multiple seasons all over Egypt; developmental defects should be targeted due to high prevalence in Egypt.
Further studies should take in consideration, more investigative parameters whenever indicated including skin scraping and microscopic examination of the findings and other blood laboratory work as immunological and genetic studies.
Control of diabetes, hypertension and other diseases should be explained to every woman planning to get pregnant to avoid future complications in newborns.
