Abstract The present study was designed to investigate the modulating effect of vitamin E (50mg/kg b.wt) and/or sodium selenite (1.5mg/kg b.wt) on adverse effect of levofloxacin (7.5 mg/kgm b.wt.) for 10 successive days. This experiment was done on Eighty, four months old apparently healthy rats (Wistar strain) weighing between 150-200 gm average body weight, divided into 8 equal groups (10 rats in each). group 1 Rats non treated (control). group 2 Rats orally administrated with levofloxacin (7.5 mg/kg. b.wt) for 10 successive days group 3 Rats orally administrated with Vitamin E (50mg/kg b.wt) for 10 successive days group 4 Rats orally administrated with sodium selenite (1.5mg /kg. b.wt) for 10 successive days. group 5 Rats orally administrated with Vitamin E and sodium selenite by same dose and period. group 6 Rats orally administrated with levofloxacin and Vitamin E by same dose and period. group 7 Rats orally administrated with levofloxacin and sodium selenite by same dose and period. group 8 Rats orally administrated with levofloxacin, Vitamin E. and sodium selenite by same dose and period. |
