Abstract Background: Caveolin-1 is found in the plasma membrane of epidermal keratinocytes and play a role in proliferation and oncogenic transformation. Psoriasis is a disorder characterized by abberant hyperproliferation and maturation of epidermal keratinocytes. Nonmelanoma skin cancers (NMSCs) can result from dysregulation of the homeostasis of keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation. Objective: study the expression of caveolin-1 in psoriasis , the common types of NMSCs such as basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and its possible role in the pathogenesis of these diseases. |
