Abstract With the huge growth of students’ number, learning content, services that can be offered and resources made available, E-learning systems are facing challenges of optimizing large-scale resource management and provisioning. The educational institutes are confronted with a dramatic increase in costs and a decrease in budgets. There are many educational institutes that cannot afford such investments. This research presents a simple, multi-platform, cloud-based LCMS to help educational institutes to manage their learning content in an efficient and cost-effective way. The proposed system adopts Google Apps for Education (GAFE) to enhance the learning content management process. Depending on a heuristic evaluation checklist included 106 questions categorized in 14 categories, the proposed system was tested by a group of computer and information technology teachers. Based on the results, the proposed system’s efficacy and usability is 92.4%. Since the proposed system had shown more availability, accessibility, and cost efficiency, it was highly recommended with some recommendations which can be taken into consideration in next releases of the system or future studies. |
