Abstract

Abdominoplasty is aesthetic body contouring surgery provides improvement and transformation of a patient’s body to one with desirable shape and contour while simultaneously achieving the elevation of a patient’s spirit.
Endoscopic abdominoplasty is a unique abdominal contouring procedure representing less than 5% of abdominoplasty procedures. It is ideal for the patient who presents with relatively normal weight, excess abdominal adiposity, muscular laxity and diastasis, and little or no soft-tissue laxity. For these patients, endoscopic abdominoplasty can achieve very positive results.
The mini abdominoplasty is a highly effective procedure for patients with mild to moderate excess abdominal adiposity, skin laxity, and muscular diastasis. Thorough concurrent liposuction, strong myofascial plication, appropriate skin excision, and proper wound closure are all important elements for this procedure. When properly designed, with important patient input, a very pleasing and gratifying result can be obtained for both patient and surgeon.
The full or complete abdominoplasty procedure is by far the most commonly performed method of abdominoplasty.
The extended abdominoplasty procedure is ideal for treating patients who have excess adiposity and soft-tissue laxity greater than would be properly cared for with a full abdominoplasty.
Reversed abdominoplasty Patients suffering from excess skin and localized adiposity, particularly in the upper abdomen, continue to represent a challenge for most plastic surgeons.
Circumferential abdominoplasty is a very powerful procedure for contouring the trunk and buttocks area. It is applicable to a large segment of the body contouring patient population and is the procedure of choice if skin and soft tissue redundancy of the torso is present circumferentially.
Complications can occur with any surgical procedure. Fortunately, with good patient and procedure selection, careful planning, and proper surgical technique, many potential complications of abdominal contouring can be avoided.
