Abstract

Dental implants are now considered a routine treatment modality for replacing missing teeth in the majority of dental applications. However, to reconstruct a natural soft tissue appearance between two implants in the anterior part of the maxilla is complex and challenging.Nowadays, gingival esthetic become a hot issue for most clinicians and has been a critical factor in deciding the overall success of the implant-supported restoration. Before various techniques for uncovering the implant are described, it is important to mention that in some situations, the cover screw will expose itself completely or partially to the oral cavity. In such cases, second-stage surgery might not be necessary; nevertheless, special care should be used. If the cover screw is not kept plaque free during this healing period, the implant eventually could be lost owing to inflammation, mucosal damage, and bone loss related to untreated plaque accumulation.Aim of the work This study will be intended to evaluate implant exposure techniques (incisional and excisional) at second-stage surgery. This study involved Twenty four patients, in need for surgical exposure of second-stage implants were chosen for this study from available cases in Oral Surgery Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Mansoura University.Conclusion-lasers improve healing and patients’ satisfaction, and minimize postoperative complications for second stage surgery. 2- Lasers can be used as an effective modality for dental implants exposure, due to precise incision, reduced bleeding and postoperative discomfort. 3- Punch techniques has several specific requirements to use, including the presence of broad, flat ridges with adequate gingiva, no need for osseous contouring 4-I-shape used when does not detected accurately the implant site.
