Abstract

Psoriasis is a common and recurrent proliferative inflammatory skin disease that has been associated with abnormal plasma lipid metabolism and with high frequency of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
Psoriasis is now an important systemic disease associated with various comorbid conditions that include increased risk of cardiovascular abnormalities, hypertension, dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis, diabetes, obesity, cerebral stroke, osteoporosis, cancer, and depression.
According to the modern concept of inflammation, all immune disorders, such as psoriasis, are considered to have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
Psoriasis is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, a hallmark of which is atherosclerosis.
