Abstract The present work was designed to evaluate the effect of H2 blockers (Nizatidine and Ranitidine) on gastric ulceration induced experimentally in male albino rats by NSAIDs. In addition, the possible adverse effects of these drugs on male hormonal profile. Moreover histopathological examination of the stomach was done. The different parameters studied for gastric ulcer were the incidence of ulceration, the mean ulcer score, the ulcer index , preventive indices and histopathological examination. But for male hormonal profile, blood samples were collected for hormonal analyses ( FSH, LH, PRL, T-TESTO and F-TESTO ). The following results were demonstrated: A- Antiulcer activity. -First experiment (Gastro protective effect of H2 blockers): Twenty adult male albino rats were divided randomly into four equal groups each of five animals as follow: group 1: Rats in this group were left as a control. group 2: Ulcer induced group, after fasting overnight, piroxicam (5mg/kg) followed 60 minutes later by paracetamol (80mg/kg) as single dosage. |
