Abstract This study to research the likelihood of heating and cooling air by connecting thermoelectric elements to a PV panel. The idea is to reverse the direction of heat flow within room’s wall. In hot season the cold side for thermoelectric component will be inside the room and the hot side will be outside the room and the vise versa in winter season, hot side will be inside the room and cool side will be outside the room. Thermal convection of the thermoelectric cooler has been investigated and the values of COP calculated for cooling mode and has a different values from 0.05 to 0.31 and for heating mode has a values from 0.05 to 1.0. The experimental results indicates that forced convection is better than natural convection, and parallel connection between TEC modules is the highest efficiency with cooling mode and seires connection is the highest efficiency for heating mode. A relatively new technique to switch heat transmission through wall is to utilize thermoelectric (TE) devices when two dissimilar materials form a junction. If a voltage is applied, in hot season heat will flow from one end of the junction to the other side warmer which will be outside the room, but in cold season the warmer side will be inside the room, and the cold side will be outside the room. By connecting photovoltaic energy will help in system integration, so that no need to use any other electricity source. Moreover if charging system has been applied, cooling and heating will be possible in the absence of sun. Also extra power can be used for other purposes. |
