Abstract

Lead is a pollutant that can be present in water and accumulated in fish tissues leading to different physiological disorders such as decrease food safety of fish.
Ceratonia siliqua pods (carob) and Ficus Carica fruits(fig) known in alternative medicine for treatment of many disorders as anticancer effects, antidiabetes effects, antidiarrheal effects, antioxidant, digestive effects, hyper¬lipidemic effects, hypoglycamic activity, antibacterial activity and binding with heavy some heavy metals, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective and ethnobotanical effects.
The present study was carried out to evaluate the possible positive impact of Ceratonia siliqua (carob) pods and Ficus carica (fig) fruits ether extracts against lead toxicity in tilapia nilotica (Oreochromis niloticus) with special reference to histopathological changes in the organs tissues.
