Abstract
This thesis discusses the issue of solid waste management, Which is considered one of the most important issues that concern both the Egyptian government and citizens, Solid waste with economic value is also wasted, The solid waste management in Fayoum Governorate was studied and the shortcomings of the existing situation were investigated and the proposed solutions to manage the waste in a proper manner was proposed . The case of plastic waste has been studied and how it can be transformed from waste material into an energy source in addition to trying to establish an independent waste science.
Chapter (1): gives a general idea about the subject of the study: municipal solid waste management, and how to make use of them and convert them from negligible value to a product of economic value . In addition to the transformation of plastic waste into fuel and the first one explains the objectives and purpose of the study.
Chapter (2): contains an overview of the scientific basis for sound waste management, shedding light on the quantities of waste used by all governorates of Egypt. With an overview of some of the successful international experiences in solid waste management, in addition to studying some successful attempts in the transformation of plastic waste into fuel references that have been used have been mentioned .
Chapter (3): presents a detailed study of waste management in Fayoum Governorate and identify the shortcomings of the current system in addition to proposing some solutions for waste management properly, also . The first attempt to establish a waste science that includes: some important scientific terms in that area, classification of wastes, clarification of the scientific basis for proper management of waste, Case study on the transformation of plastic waste into fuel as an important application for the utilization of plastic waste was investigated The conclusion of this chapter is the beginning to establish an independent science of waste.
Chapter (4): investigate conversion plastic waste into fuel and maximizes the utilization of plastic waste through the use of two different catalysts where it contains the methods of analysis , the results , discussion and summary of this study.
