Abstract

Poultry meat quality and its nutritional value for the consumer have gained much attention from nutritionists. In the last few years the scientist and researcher direct their view towards using the vegetable oils and medicinal plants as a natural supplement of essential nutrients and safe growth promoters due to their antioxidant, antimicrobial, immune stimulant effect in addition to their improving effect on meat quality also, their safe effect on consumer health.
The present study was conducted in two experiments
Experiment I: was conducted to study the effects of dietary supplementation with linseed, olive and palm oil with or without l-carnitine to ration on broiler chicks.
Experiment II: was conducted to study the effects of dietary supplementation with aloe vera leaves to ration on broiler chicks.
Experiment I was conducted to study the effects on: growth performance of broiler chickens, organoleptic examination of meat, carcass quality traits and PUFA content of breast muscle while,
Experiment II was conducted to study the effects on: growth performance of broiler chickens, organoleptic examination of meat, carcass quality traits and Immunity of the bird (phagocytic activity and antibody titre against Newcastle disease virus).
