Abstract

This investigation was carried out to study the effect of spring and soaking yeast under different levels of nitrogen fertilization on the yield and quality of sugar beet. The sugar beet cultivar “HERCULE” was used in both seasons. Three treatments were used, 60kg N/feddan, 75kg N/feddan and 90kg N/feddan with four treatments were used: control (without spring), spraying after 45 days from sowing tow spraying after 45 and 60 from sowing , three spraying after 45, 60 and 75 days form sowing and four treatments were used: control (without soaking), soaking for 24 hour, soaking for 48 hour and soaking for 72 hour. Increasing nitrogen fertilization at 90kg N/fed. showed highly significant value of root length, root diameter, dry weight and root and top ratio for sugar beet plant at 128, 143 and 168 days from sowing in two seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 also showed highly significant mean of top, root and sugar yield for sugar beet plant in two seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 and Three spray of yeast showed significantly higher of root length, root diameter, dry weight, top/root ratio and top, root and sugar yield for sugar beet plant at seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016.Interaction between treatment were observed significant effect on root length, root diameter, dry weight and top/rot ratio for sugar beet plant at 128, 143 and 168 days from sowing in two seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 and top, root and sugar yield for sugar beet plant in two seasons 2104/2015 and 2015/2016.
