Abstract

In pheromone science, molecular asymmetry is important both chemically and biologically. Techniques for the preparation and determination of the absolute configuration of pheromones are discussed[1]. Enantioselective synthesis of pheromones is the central part of the research. Molecular asymmetry governs the biodiversity of pheromone perception as illustrated by the detailed discussion on the relationships between absolute configuration and pheromone activity [2].This thesis contains five chapters. The first chapter includes four parts the first part includes introduction to polymeric reagent and important notes to PMMA. The second part includes introduction to asymmetric synthesis, history of asymmetric synthesis, chiral auxiliaries and important notes about stereochemistry. The third part includes introduction to resolution of enantiomers using different techniques. The fourth part includes introduction to pheromones, types of pheromones,introduction to ant Atta texana, introduction to palm weevil, and use of pheromones in IPM.The second chapter includes results and discussion; we explain the obtained results and the all methods which used to analyze our products and the comparison between enantiomeric yields in different cases.The third chapter includes the biological applications of our products as Anti-microbial activities, In vitro anti-proliferative activity and Antioxidant activity.
