Abstract

The objective of this study is a multifold one, the main target is
to evaluate the Nubia Sandstone as a main reservoir of the October
Field, delineate the basement structural framework of the study area
as well as construct the Nubia Sandstone structural contour map to
spot lighting on any other promising locations for hydrocarbon
exploration. One of the most important targets is reprocessing for a
selected seismic line to test parameters and try to enhance the seismic
data, reducing multiples and clarify the Pre-Miocene events which is
the main problem of seismic processing in the study area. This may
effectively help the re-evaluation of the Nubia Sandstone in the study
area. Moreover, petrophysical parameters are studied to evaluate the
Nubia Sandstone reservoir of the main October Field, using the
different well logs for the available wells in the area.different well logs for the available wells in the area.
To achieve these goals, the geophysical and geological data are
used. The seismic data set for a selected seismic line, crossing the
main October Field was reprocessed after testing seismic
processing parameters and producing the optimum processed one,
the potential field (magnetic) data of the study area are also
processed and interpreted and magnetic modeling was carried out
for selected profiles, one of these profiles is passing through the
selected seismic line. Tying one of the magnetic models with the
reprocessed seismic line was carried out which gives a good
comparison with the Pre-Miocene events. The integration with the
geological data are obtained from the available drilled wells,
producing fifteen structural cross-sections. Basement structural
contour map, as well as, Nubia Sandstone structure contour map,
depicting some prospective and promising locations which may
have hydrocarbon potentiality and may develop the main field.
