Abstract

Postdated pregnancies account for approximately 5–10% of the deliveries and are recognized to be linked with increased hazard for many perinatal complications.Post-term pregnancy is one of the commonest obstetric conditions.Pregnancy is called post-term when it exceeds 42 weeks. Post-term pregnancy is associated with significant risks to the fetus. The perinatal mortality rate at gestational age greater than 42 weeks of pregnancy is twice that at term and increases 6-fold and higher at 43 weeks of pregnancy and beyond. These troubles can be decreased by routine antepartum fetal surveillance prior to the onset of spontaneous labor. The current methods of fetal surveillance are NST, AFI, BPS, UA Systole/Diastole ratio and MCA pulsatility index. This present work was conducted at Tanta University Maternity Hospital during the period from February 2017 to February 2018.We let in 50 pregnant women at the selected gestational age. The studied group had no obstetric or medical complications of pregnancy. In this survey, women were included to examine the centile distribution of fetal MCA Doppler indices and AFI in uncomplicated postdated pregnancies at 42 weeks and the correlation between these parameters with perinatal outcome.
