Abstract

This study was conducted to study the chemical composition of cinnamon and coriander. Determination of some active compounds such as total phenols, total flavonoids, antioxidant activity and identification of phenolics compounds of cinnamon and coriander using HPLC technique. Study the effect of different concentrations (5 and 10 %) of coriander, cinnamon as powder on blood glucose and hypercholesterolemic levels. Also, determination of lipid profile, liver functions and kidney functions. Hemoglobin, platelet, red blood cell and white blood cell of diabetic and hypercholesterolemic rats were also determined. Thirty six adult male white albino rats, Sprague Dawley Strain, 10 weeks age, weighing (140±10g) were used in this experiment. All rats were fed on basal diet prepared according to American Institute of Nutrition (AIN) (1993) for 7 consecutive days. After this adaptation period, rats are divided into 6 groups, each group which consists of 6 rats as follows: group (1): Rats will feed on basal diet as a control negative. group (2): Rats injected by alloxan a dose of 150 mg per kg and 150mg/kg cholesterol sbile salt in diet used as a control positive group. group (3): A group infected hypercholesterolemic and diabetic was fed on the cinnamon by 5% per kg diet.
