Abstract
Introduction:.Alopecia areata and PTPN22. The aim of work:The aim of the study is to evaluate the association between alopecia areata and PTPN22C1858T in an Egyptian cohort. Research Plan:This study was carried out on 60 Egyptian patients with alopecia areata and 60 ethnically matched healthy control group. The PTPN22 C1858T genotype was determined by using (PCR-RFLP) method. Results: we found a significant association of CT genotype with alopecia areata risk. Conclusion:our study support the proposed genetic association between alopecia areata and PTPN22C1858T.
