Abstract

Background
The goal of evaluation of PMB is to achieve the diagnosis with greatest accuracy, the least risk and expense for the patient. With the advent of hysteroscopy in the last two decades, focus has shifted from endometrial biopsy to hysteroscopic guided biopsy as a “gold standard” diagnostic tool in the evaluation of PMB
Matrerial /methods
The outpatient hysteroscopy will be performed without local or general anesthesia used in all cases the procedure will be done in lithotomy position(no use of speculum or tenaculum). The hysteroscope will be gently introduced into utrine cavity after visualization of cervix and identification of external os. we will be performe endometrial biopsies under direct view.
Results
The agreement between the two methods was moderate for endometrial atrophy and endometrial hypertrophy respectively), good for endometrial polyp and endometrial hyperplasia) and very good for subendometrial myoma and endometrial carcinoma .
Conclusions
Hysteroscopy can be considered as the simple, safe effective and first-line gold standard method for the evaluation of the patients with PMB.
