Abstract

Introduction: CKD in known as the presence of structural damage of kidney or functional abnormality for 3 months or more usually detected as urinary albumin excretion of 30 ml or more .pentraxin are group of proteins on the basis of the primary structural the pentraxins are divided in to two groups short (CRP,serum amayloid p)and long pentraxin as pentraxin3 Aim of the work: assessment of pentraxin 3 level as an inflammatory marker in chronic renal failure patient on hemodialysis as well as possible effect of hemodialysis session on pentraxin3 level . Patients and methods : the study included 40 patients with chronic renal failure patients and 20 healthy subject with matched age and sex. all participant were subjected to history taken family history clinical examination and laboratory investigation (CBC, kidney function , serum electrolyts, CRP, pentraxin 3) . Results: the results show high level pentraxin 3, CRP, serum amayloid p , serum cholesterol in CKD compared with healthy subjects. Also low level of haemoglobin ,platelet ,serum calcium .in CKD patients in compared with healthy subjects. Conclusion: chronic inflammation is a major determinant of dialysis syndrome and can be achieved through many marker as ESR and CRP.higher pentraxin 3post heamodialysis than pre heamodialysis but not statistically significant .
