Abstract Based on the information presented in this thesis ,we make the following summary.P.aeruginosais an ubiquitous organism which has emerged as a major threat in hospital environment.P. aeruginosa is the most commonl isolated bacterium colonizing severe burns and wound infections .The pathogenesis of P. aeruginosa has been extensively studied and proven to be a multifactorial process mediated by Quorum Sensing . P. aeruginosa is naturally resistant to many antibiotics and it is increasingly becoming resistant to many anti-pseudomonal agents. Therefore, treatment of wounds or burn patients infected with P. aeruginosa became very difficult. So it is necessary to advance the field of alternative treatments Probiotics are viable, nonpathogenic microorganisms that alter the micro-flora of the gastrointestinal tract of the host, yielding a positive influence on health and body physiology .The probiotic lactobacilli have the ability to secrete acids, bacteriocins and other by-products that may neutralise infections caused by pathogens. Additionally lactobacilli have the ability to regulate the host,s inflammatory and immune responses, so they may be useful for the treatment of clinical infections such as recurrent bladder infections caused by Escherichia coli , vaginosis caused by anaerobic microbe and wound infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus. The aim of this study was to investigate the in-vitro inhibition exerted by L. plantarum on the viability ,the virulence and the antibiotic sensitivity of P. aeruginosa. |
