Abstract

We studied the effect of laser hair removal on female sexual function we take (30)participants were recruited from private laser centers ,they underwent personal history and Arabic version of female sexual functions index over the past four weeks after laser hair removal.
Age of the subjects ranged between 24 and 38 years with an average(28.97±3.92) and a median 28.5 years that out of the 20 subjects , 11(36.7%) had laser in their faces , 15 (50%) in the pubic and/or axillary areas and 4 (13.3%) for both.18 (60%) females were circumcised and 12 (40%) females had uncircumcised.
Study the effect of laser on 6 different scales and the total scale. As shown, the mean scores of desire, arousal, orgasm, satisfaction and pain increased significantly after the procedure (P<0.05), however, there was no statistically significant effect on lubrication score (P>0.05). Overall, the total score increased markedly from 18.60±3.06 before the procedure to 20.29±2.37 after the procedure (P<0.05). females who had circumcision had much lower desire scores , lower orgasm scores , lower satisfaction scores and consequently lower total scores (P<0.05). After the procedure, although these scores remained lower in the circumcised females, the difference between the figures for circumcised and uncircumcised decreased to non-statistically significant differences (P>0.05). Site of the procedure had no significant role in any of the studied scores whether before or after the procedure (P>0.05).
Results showed improvement in the female sexual functions and this may be related to improved body image and increased self-confidence .we conclude that laser hair removal is significantly associated with improved FSF regarding (desire ,arousal ,orgasm and satisification).
