Abstract Nowadays advances in communication technologies allow people to have unlimited access to the internet – publishing their thoughts online; social networks like Facebook and twitter are widely used; Capturing the Egyptian uprising from the day of the Egyptian 2010 revolt till the departure of Mubarak. Facebook marks specifically a spark to the Egyptian revolution Gustin (2011) stresses the role of social media like Facebook and twitter in revolutions. He argues that social media did not cause the revolution, but ―these tools did speed up the process by helping to organize the revolutionaries, transmit their message to the world and galvanize international support.‖ Karvets (2011) adopts the same view; he demonstrates that technology certainly helped in modern revolutions. |
