Abstract The current investigation represents a step in a long journey towards an acceptable solution of multidrug resistance of microbial pathogens. Several attempts have been done to isolate and identify various species of bacteria and fungi contaminating pharmaceutical finished products as well as those involved in genital and respiratory tract infections in humans. The obtained microbes were then tested for their sensitivity or resistance to different antimicrobial agents. Multidrug resistant strains of bacteria and fungi were chosen for further studies focused on their response to combinations of drugs and silver nanoparticles synthesized biologically by latex serum of Calotropis procera and broth culture of the mushroom Pleurotus ostreatus. |
