I sincerely would like to thank Dr. Ahmed T. A. Boraei and Dr. Yasmine M. Abdel Aziz for their support, encouragement, guidance and numerous discussions during these years. A special thanks goes to Dr. Manal Galal, coordinator of M.Sc. students for her kind cooperation. I am grateful to all the nice people with whom I shared many delightful moments and who made my stay at pharmaceutical organic chemistry department (Ismailia), Egypt.
I am grateful to Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Majid for giving me the opportunity to work in his laboratory at Chemistry department, College of Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I would like to thank Dr. Hazem A. Ghabbour, for his help to solve the chemical structure by X-ray single crystal techniques and, also for the molecular docking studies. I would like to thank Dr. Saied M. Soliman, for computional studies. I would like to thank Dr. Abdullah Al-Dhfyan for testing my compounds against anti-cancer activity. My warmest thanks goes to my former and present colleagues from our research groups for providing me a friendly and academically environment over the last years (M. Ali, M.S. Islam). Moreover, I would like to thank all the people at the services of the chemistry department and the King Saud University for their help in recording the NMR spectra and the library staff for excellent facilities. I gratefully acknowledge the financial support by the King Saud University and allowing me to do my experimental work; for providing the necessary research facilities; more over for facilitating me to attend the international conferences.
