Abstract

Chapter 1: introduction: recognize behavior management techniques and evaluate parental acceptance rate. Chapter 2: aim of the work:to evaluate attitudes of parents of two different socioeconomic levels towards different behavior management techniques (BMTs) used for dental treatment. Chapter 3: subjects and methods: 270 parents who accompanied their children to the pediatric clinic at faculty of dentistry, Mansoura university (group A) in addition to 270 parents who accompanied their children to a high social club in Mansoura city (group B) participated in this study, they viewed videos of five BMTs and completed a questionnaire. Chapter 4: results:Low-moderate social class of parents were significantly more accepting of the more invasive behavior management techniques than the high social class of parents. Chapter 5:conclusion:Social status seems to be an important factor in determining parental acceptance of behavior management techniques. Chapter 6: recommendations: it’s important to reevaluate the parental acceptance to the behavior management techniques continuously to get the best communication between parents and dentists. Chapter 7: references:98 references from international scientific books and dental journals. Chapter 8: Arabic summary: consists of two papers which include aim of the work, methods, results and conclusion in Arabic words.
