Abstract Breast Hypertrophy is a pathologic condition which generates both physical and psychological distress.Women with breast hypertrophy always suffer from neck pain, back pain, and shoulder pain. Also, may complain of breathing difficulties and intertriginous skin maceration. In addition to the feelings of the poor self-image and low self-esteem. Breast reduction surgery usually combines a skin and parenchymal resection with a pedicle to maintain blood supply to the nipple-areola complex.Ideal technique should end in a beautiful breast, which has good size with fullness in the upper part, attractive shape with adequate projection. satisfaction is also a fundamental goal. Most cases in our society have moderate tosevere mammary hypertrophy who are symptomaticand plagued with back pain, intertrigo, and posturalchanges and who are primarily interested in relievingsymptoms, secondarily interested in improving aesthetics, and are less concerned with theamount and locationof the scars. These patients typically require a functional rather than cosmetic reduction mammaplasty. The inferior pedicle technique is probablythe “workhorse” method allover the world. Advantages of this are well known. It is a very technically straightforward and safe technique that can be used on almost every breast size. Alternatively, the superomedial pedicle techniquwhas been demonstrated to be safe, reliable and relatively quick toperform, saving operative time. It also provides more durable results on long-term follow-up with decreased risk of bottoming-out and more superior pole fullness. Aim of The Work To evaluate Superomedial pedicle and Inferior pedicle in breast reduction for Egyptian females and compare between both pedicles regarding cosmetic outcomes, possible complications, patient satisfaction and time of operation.
